Innokenty Alekseev discusses future prospects...

Brexit & UK/Russia trade post Brexit

Innokenty Alekseev, partner and co-head of recently launched dedicated Eurasia practice at Burlingtons Legal spoke last Friday on the effects of Brexit on the British-Russian trade relationships at the 25th Annual International MCLE London Fair at the Millennium Mayfair Hotel in London. Mr Alekseev reviewed the possibility of retracting to the WTO framework for both Russia and Britain after its formal withdrawal from EU. He also discussed concerns over the perspective of the UK losing the passporting rights to the EU for its financial services sector which can have a detrimental effect on non-EU clients, e.g., in the asset management sector.
